1) Bugs. Located on a lake and with plenty of trees, you will see a variety of bugs depending on the time of
year. In late June through early July there is about a week of Fish Fly’s. The best thing to do is keep the lights to
a minimum. You will wake up in the morning with a whole bunch of them attached to the windows or the side of
the house. If you leave them, most will be gone by noon, or you can use the hose and hose them off (that’s what
I do). Mosquitoes don’t seem to be much of a problem but be prepared. Also if you use the screen porch at
night, keep the screen doors closed, you will notice (depending on time of year) small Nat like bugs at night that
are attracted to light.
2) Water. All the water is well water and it’s some of the best in the world. However if you are not used to well
water then be prepared for a slightly different taste, and soap and shampoo don’t lather as easy as city water.
3) Upper stairway. Tall people watch out when coming down the stairs, DUCK!
4) Firewood. The lakeside of the shed you will see firewood.
5) Kitchen drawers. They are short depth with no stoppers so be careful and don’t pull them out all the way or
they will fall out.
6) T.V. We have a television with a DVD and basic cable. Local stations as well as the Weather Channel and
CNN are available. Bring your favorite movies if you like.
7) Internet. We have cable Internet with wireless hook-up. Sometimes you need to plug in because of a weak
signal.
8) Phone. We have no phone so bring your cell. The best reception is in the front of the house. Sometimes you
need to go on the deck and other times go on the dock. We are in a valley so the reception varies.
9) Barbecue Grill. We have a small Weber grill that is on or near the deck. You will need to bring charcoal.
10) Sign a Brick. Because of the remodel we request you design a brick for our guest book.
11) Sheets and Towels. We do not supply sheets and towels.
12) Washer and Dryer. We do have a washer and dryer however you need to bring laundry detergent.
13) Garbage. Please deposit your garbage in the large green garbage container by the garage. Remember
that the can needs to be taken to the street for a Thursday pick up. Others will be staying after you so garbage
management is important! Burn whatever you can in the fire pit!
14) Septic system. We are on a septic. Please deposit only what is necessary in the toilet
