Everything you need is a short
drive from the house. Food,
movies and gas can be found
at the market.

Food
1) Grocery shopping at the Village Market. The road the house is on is S.W. Torch
Lake Dr. Take this south 1/3mile to Crystal Beach Rd. turn left on go to the end (approx 2.5
miles) turn right on East Torch Lake Dr (rapid city rd) and go approx ½ mile to store on the
left. Phone 231-331-6111 if you get lost.
2) Convenience store. Located just south of you at Torch River is a party store with
beer, pop, newspapers etc. They also have coffee and doughnuts in the a.m.

4) Restaurant by boat or car. The Dockside is located at the mouth of Clam River (east
side of the lake and north about 1/3 of the way) Good food such as burgers etc. If you go by
boat, the current at Dockside is coming at you so pull straight in to the dock. I recommend
tying up at the river docks rather then the boat slips located just to the north. The docks
were paid for by people purchasing boards and having them engraved. It’s fun to walk and
read the boards.
5) Alden Bar. Located on the east side of the lake, you can go by boat or car. Good for
burgers and is o.k. for the entire family. It’s fun to get ice cream at Higgins (fifty feet east)
then walk down to the boat slips and watch the sunset. 231-331-6214
6) Torch Rivera. Located 1/3 mile south of you at the corner of Crystal Beach Rd. and S.
W. Torch Lake Dr. Decent food, good Salmon, family place with goofy hours so check before
you go. 231-322-4100
7) Elk Rapids. Several restaurants, all family places that serve good food. It’s been a
couple years since I have traveled that far to eat (10 miles) but Pearls is a good
recommendation.
8) Five Stars. If you a celebrating an occasion the requires a unique dining experience the
travel north to the town of Ellsworth and you will find two world class restaurants. The Rowe
Inn and Tapawingo are both five star so call ahead for reservations.
